In 2009, I published my memoir, What’s Left of Us. The writing was praised by several New York Times Bestselling authors, but there was no heroin epidemic. The book touched a limited market. Today, 144 Americans will die from an accidental overdose of heroin. A recent Harvard study determined those numbers will skyrocket until 2023. My literary agent received the rights back from the publisher. On February 15, I will republish under the new title, I am a Heroin Addict. I urge every parent struggling with their sons’ and daughters’ addiction and every heroin addict fighting their personal battle to read this memoir.
